MC Knoll Fundraising Initiative

On January 26, 2009, MC Knoll School held their annual Survivor Event. The students took part in Habitat focused activities throughout the day including touring 2 houses in the build process and signing 2x4's that will be used in the first ever Habitat Yorkton build. The grade 6, 7, & 8 students spent the entire night in the school with a few field trips during the evening. The students raised an amazing amount of $6363!! Thank you to all of you that participated.

Playhouse

Students at Sacred Heart High School donated their time and effort into building a playhouse for Habitat to sell tickets for. The draw will be made on April 19th, 2009.

Habitat Curling Funspiel

Habitat for Humanity Yorkton held its first ever Habitat Curling Funspiel at the Yorkton Curling Club. The one night event brought out 18 teams and numerous spectators. Each team raised pledges with all proceeds going to Habitat Yorkton. There were an abundance of raffle prizes and door prizes for the players all donated by various businesses around Yorkton. Las Vegas was the theme for the evening which many teams took part in. Blue Man Group, CSI Las Vegas and Cleopatra and César are just a few of the great costumes from the night. A couple of special prizes were given out for Best Dressed Team and Top Pledging team. The Blue Man Group from Buddha Boys Plumbing took home the prize for best dressed and the team from Tapps Brewing were the top pledging team raising over $1000! The total raised for Habitat Yorkton was over $6000. The event was a great success and plans are already in the works for next year's funspiel. Thank you to all of you that participated and we encourage everyone to come out and take part next year.
