Our History
Habitat for Humanity is a community-based, non-profit, faith-based organization working to provide safe and decent housing for people locally, nationally and internationally.
Founded on June 18th, 2008 habitat for Humanity Yorkton was established as an affiliate of the Habitat for Humanity organization and was given the direction to move forward with our first local build in Yorkton, SK.
We build the homes with the "sweat equity" of our family partner homeowners who work side-by-side with volunteers. Professional contractors under see the exterior structure of the home and will work with our volunteers to ensure all interior and exterior construction meets code. Each year volunteers from faith institutions, corporations, schools and civic groups partner with Habitat for Humanity organizations around the world to build homes and learn more about how to solve the affordable housing crisis.
